It was always a pleasure to see you during the day. No matter what happened and how long and late we worked, your motivation and persistant upbeat inspiration made it easier to tolerate the difficlt demands of the job. You will be greatly missed amongst all of us here. Every man woman and Marine alike are better having had you in their life. Semper Fidelis Wesley.

Wesley, you were always a great person and I'm VERY thankful and honored to have had such a great person in my life. I first met you when we were 8 years old and growing up on the part of town you and I grew up on is hard! We all try so hard to seek recognition and fame but very few of us actually achieve it. You my friend of almost 20 years, achieved way more than recognition and fame! You're a hero and with the big heart you always had, I'm sure you're up there in heaven saying, "I wish I could have done more." You did more than enough Wesley! You touched THOUSANDS of lives, saved many, and I'm sure you didnt even realize that because you died doing what you were trained to do... making sure your fellow Marine can live to see the next day. And Wesley, I am so damn proud of you man! You left more than memories... You left a legacy of heroism! It's really hard to let go of such a great friend so I wont! You'll always be remembered and your legacy of putting others before yourself will live on in each and every life you touched! Like I said earlier... You did more than enough! And now it's your time to rest. I know you'll be guarding the gates of heaven when more of your friends and family arrive throughout the years. Until then, we'll continue to help others and live the legacy you left behind. We'll all pray for your family as they cope with this difficult time. We will see you again my friend! We love you Sgt Wesley Rice! You will be greatly missed but NEVER forgoten!

My heart goes out to you Sgt Wesley Rice..my son n law was a student of yours and said you were a great instructor and you will be missed. Marines are the back bone of our nation and its because of you and your fighting spirit that your name will live on in every Marine brother who knew you and those who will read of you. May your family have peace in knowing that you where here as God intended you to be and thats to bring joy to those who knew you.

Our family's deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the Rice family. My son was there at the scene of the awful accident that day and was a friend of Wesley's. Thank you Wesley for your service - 2 tours in Iraq and now you were training the new Marines. Words can not even begin to come close to adequately expressing how tragic and sad losing you is. Your family will forever be in our prayers and may they rest easy someday knowing that you are up above watching over them. God rest your soul and bless you - The Jaeger/Donnelly Families

May you rest in peace. You were always a sweet and caring person. The story of your heroism is not a surprise. You always put others before yourself. You will be missed.

May God comfort your wife, daughter, and family during this difficult time.
