I’ve previously worked with William H Bartsch per aircraft research for him per his Philippines books per “8th December 1941, McArthur’s Pearl harbor, and Everyday a Nightmare (About Provisional Pursuit Pilots in Java and Australia 1942). Currently bill is editing his last book,…(he’s over 90 now) per Project x the 7th and 19th BG in Java (then Netherlands East Indies) and Australia Dec 41 -March 42. That leads into,… Just advising you that 2nd Lt William R Hogg O-421704 was Co-pilot of B-17E 41-2482 was lost in ditching at sea 07 Feb 42 with 8 others during ferry flight under Project X crossing the Atlantic ex Natal, Brazil to land in Africa then onwards to the Far East in Java. Also, per your records the Skipper and Pilot of the B-17E was 2nd Lt John B Rush O-387810 (Which you also list). Both were members of the 43rd Bomb Group Based at Langley AAF.
