I knew David. He was an exceptional leader in the motor pool. Friendly and kindhearted, he often helped me out. He was surrounded by good men in his unit. They were attached to my unit 2nd battalion 70th armor. I very well may have been the last one to see him alive in the desert that fateful day. I will always remember him.
