Maj Thomas McElhenney Fry was married in 1939 to the former Sylvia B. Sundstrum of Corning, New York whom he met while they were both students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a member of the 14th Marines, 4th Marine Division and died on 5 Jun 1944 at Guam. He was a resident of Augusta, Georgia, but his wife was living in Corning at the time of his death.
