John Francis Dugan, age 23, from Roselle, New Jersey.
Date of death: Saturday, March 20, 1971
Military History: 101st Aviation Battalion, 101st Airborne Division
Death details: Hostile, died missing in Laos. He was a crewmember aboard a UH-1H Iroquois (serial number 66-16185) on a troop extraction mission in Savannakhet Province, Laos. During the mission, the Iroquois was shot down by enemy ground fire and CPT Dugan was killed. Hostile presence in the area inhibited recovery efforts at the time. In 2004, a joint investigative team located the crash site of the Iroquois and recovered remains which were later identified as those of CPT Dugan.
