A monthly 106th AAA Battalion report lists his tragic death on 17th May 1945 near Munich: “The only casualty for the period 11-31 May was the accidental death of Pvt RAYMOND H. GRAVELLE, 31269085 Battery C. While erecting a radio aerial he accidentally threw the wire over a live high tension power line and was electrocuted.”
