Dick, was my Uncle and a pilot who naturally I never met. What I understand is he dove in to attack a piece of artillery and could not pull-up in time causing him to crash into a cliff.
I actually have his log book with all his flights…
His last remaining sibling was my Aunt Donna who passed away in 2019
