Death details: He was eriously wounded in the legs in August 1969 while on his last mission. One leg was amputated and he recovered in a U.S. hospital for about a year before discharged from the Army. He died in 1972 during an emergency operation at Van Wert County Hospital to remove his appendix when a blood clot from his injured leg lodged in his lungs. His name was added to the Wall in 1987.

Death details: Among 11 Navy men killed when their Neptune bomber plunged into the oceans 100 miles off Virginia. The two-engine, long-range bomber was taking part in an antisubmarine training mission with the carrier Lake Champlain.
