Cleve, Reginald David

Date of death: Monday, March 22, 1971
Death details: On March 22, 1971, a UH-1H Iroquois (tail number 68-15759) with a crew of four took part in a five-aircraft emergency resupply mission. During the mission, the Iroquois caught fire for unknown reasons and crashed. Search efforts could not be conducted in the area due to heavy enemy presence. All four members of the crew were lost with the aircraft.

Warrant Officer 1 Reginald David Cleve, who joined the U.S. Army from Missouri, was a member of the 176th Aviation Company, 14th Aviation Battalion, 16th Aviation Group. He was the aircraft commander aboard the Iroquois when it went down and was lost with the aircraft. His remains were not recovered following the incident.
