Death details: Private First Class Earl Francis Seablom, who joined the U.S. Army from Michigan, was a member of Company D, 34th Engineer Construction Battalion, 79th Engineer Group, 20th Engineer Brigade. On July 18, 1968, he was taking part in a road mine clearing mission in Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam. During the clearing, PFC Seablom stepped on a mine, causing it to explode. He was killed instantly, and the nature of his loss made the recovery of his remains impossible. Today, Private First Class Seablom is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
