Floyd A. Fulmer from South Carolina, Newberry county.

Death details: On November 27, 2018, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) accounted for Private Floyd A. Fulmer, missing from World War II. Private Fulmer joined the U.S. Army from South Carolina and was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division. On November 14, 1944, he was reported missing in action after combat against German forces near Germeter, Germany, as part of the Battle of Hürtgen Forest. In 1947, following the end of hostilities, American Graves Registration personnel recovered a set of remains from the Raffelsbrand sector of the Hürtgen Forest that could not be identified. These remains were eventually interred as “unknowns” at the Ardennes American Cemetery in Neupré, Belgium. In 2018, research by a DPAA historian and advances in forensic techniques prompted the reexamination of these “unknowns” and DPAA analysts identified Private Fulmer’s remains.
