Death details: Died in the crash of his A-10 combat-support jet during a training exercise north of Fort Bliss, Texas. A soldier who was on the ground said he believed that Marsh stayed in his aircraft rather than eject. “If he had ejected, he would have taken out the whole bank (of soldiers),” the soldier said. There were about 100 on the ground.
